How important is the local identity for job searching in US/ UK?

Hi all, keen to understand how difficult to look for a job in US or UK if visa sponsor is required, and what is the main reasons behind? Welcome any sharing from experience or anyone from HR could share insights

  1. At what stage would the hiring team consider the candidacy based on whether the applicant require visa sponsorship?
  2. What is the main reason that matter? Is it because there is a legally maximum number of visa sponsorship for each company? The visa sponsorship is expensive?
  3. What is the best way to look for a job in UK and US
  4. How big is the advantage for someone applying the same role without need for sponsorship?
  5. What is the best and more feasible way if I am looking for a job in US/ UK but currently based outside?
  6. Any other thoughts

Thank you!
