How many deals per year does the average MD close?
I'm well aware that there exist rockstar, rainmaking MDs out there... but am interested in hearing how many deals an average MD closes per year (i.e. 1, around 1, a few, several?)... would also be interested to hear how this varies between BBs, EBs, and MM firms, as well as between product and coverage MDs.
I'm aware that banking is cyclical in nature and therefore it might not be realistic to give me a specific number, but I have absolutely no clue so even a ballpark would be helpful
Usually they have a revenue target and make more of the commission the more they make. The ones I work with probably do a few bug m&a deals a year with a good bit of levfin and financing deals. They kinda ball out tbh

No, it's mostly centered around M&A involving companies who perform research on various insect species. Often requires a Ph.D in entomology or a related field to break in.
