How much does the Global Head of M&A at banks like UBS or Citi make a year?
If someone knows this information, I'm curious to know which would be the range of their salaries as recently got to know them.

Gotta be at least tree fiddy
it must be so variable dude. packages get pretty bespoke at that level.
Salaries? I’ve heard they top out around $500k - maybe slightly higher for group heads, etc.
total comp nobody knows too variable
Total comp is so variable depending on year. Probably ~$10m in 2021 (especially if they had a role in SPACs), and ~$5m in 2022. These figures are probably much lower at UBS than Citi.
Pretty close to spot on
$5m seems light for someone at the top, no?
2022 was a disaster year and Global Head of M&A isn’t often a rainmaker. It’s more likely a senior, highly respected banker. But the big rainmakers will be the industry group heads.
id say in a normal year they will be on a 7-8mm a year which isn’t bad for an administrator / senior guy.
If they are not rainmaker, how does one become global m&a head? Would love to hear your perspective.
Industry not m&a bankers make the most, assuming there's a standalone m&a group
