Do most get their first choice? Second? Third?
How often do you get put into a group that you didn't want to be in at all?
Is it a factor of how well you do in training (I know networking with current group members is the biggest factor)?

For SA or FT? Pretty sure that your group placement is determined well in advance of training...
FT and no, you get your group at the end of training.
A few banks do this (definitely not the norm but it happens, know BarCap did it)
Proportion of students who network aggressively and intelligently and get the group they want: 80-90%
Proportion of students who don't network well and get the group they want: 20-30%
Obviously made up numbers, but you get what I'm trying to say.
Yeah we don't find out who's joining the team until part way through the final week of training. If you've interned in the team previously you clearly stand a good chance but make sure you keep in contact with them - coffees and drinks etc. and let them know you are putting that team as your top choice.
And if you say that make sure you do - we find out where you actually placed us so if you've lied to keep a couple of teams sweet we won't want you. My personal view anyway
