How to avoid feeling low energy, sleepy in general

I have my internship starting this summer and am honestly worried as to how I will keep up with the pace and stay awake. My diet is not ideal and I don't exercise much, but I do try to walk a lot. Would starting to exercise help with energy levels?

Generally, I feel very low energy and sleepy, and a poor night's sleep will have me sleepy throughout classes.

Is this normal for someone still in undergraduate and relatively young? Is there a fix for this? Generally wondering if I should go to a doctor to get this checked.

Honestly you should plan your day around trying to maximize as much rest as you can. I am not able to function at all if I don't have enough sleep so I sympathize. Plan ahead, schedule your day for sleep, and try to eat snacks/light meals throughout the day instead of heavy ones which will make you even more tired and sluggish. Right balance of water/coffee can help too.
