you shouldn’t use this book to prepare for technicals. the guides cover 80-100% of the stuff you’ll need to know. this book is only useful for learning certain things more in depth if you don’t understand it from the guides

I'm reading it cover to cover at the moment, making annotations and looking through the models in reasonable detail. Starting FT this summer so I find it useful preparation as a starting point, although I don't see it as comprehensive if you want to be an elite analyst

Was wondering this as well. I'm an incoming MBA student at a target M7 (Wharton/Booth/CBS), intending to recruit for IB. Trying to get ahead of some of the technicals/interview prep. Would y'all recommend the Rosenbaum book (I have the 2nd edition and have started to read it) or would the guides be a better use of my time until school starts?

Any input is appreciated!

Guides for high-level, then you can dive into Rosenbaum. This worked best for me and allowed me to understand why I was doing the analysis Rosenbaum walks you through.

I tired cramming this book for my prep for an IB SA gig. Hate to break it to you, but for interviews as undergrad it’s practically unnecessary. Just memorize the technical part of 400 questions thing; Rosen is more for on the job stuff.
