How to make the most of my time here?

Hi folks,

After a long and grueling process, I landed my dream internship in IB. I networked my way into one of the strongest groups at the bank and started about 2-3 weeks ago. I'm currently on a deal that hasn't required a lot of deliverables (pretty late in the process when I joined), but has been super interesting. The staffer of our group has randomly tried to staff everyone and some are pretty busy and some aren't. I think this will all smooth out in the next week, but in the meantime I have not had much to do. I have asked everyone what they need and have tried to do all the correct "intern things", but it just seems that things are a little slow.

My question: what can I do while I wait for things to pick up to get the most out of this opportunity? I have looked through CIPS, a little through some models, and other things, but I was wondering if there were certain things that really helped you learn a lot in your downtime.

I feel like the super successful people in life are always trying to better themselves and advance their knowledge. What should I focus on? Would building a model from scratch be very beneficial? (Kind of difficult to just dive in without much context but I guess I can basically run through the pitch from the beginning). Read something online?

I'm just trying to think forward about what I want to do in the future (which I'm not really sure if IB is it or not but I guess that's why I have an internship) and I just want to prepare myself the best for anything. Just would like some opinions of things that you did and/or doing.

Hope this makes sense.

Cheers.
