How to spin this

I go to a semi target and have gained a strong interest in leveraged finance. This summer I interned at a smaller Asset Management fund out east and would like to pursue something in IB for next summer. Although I got good exposure to the financial industry with my last experience, I do not really see how I can spin this to hopefully secure something in a lev fin group. Would I be better off pursuing something smaller (smaller credit shop or pe fund), and then using that as a path to FT at a BB, or is sophomore experience not that defining in BB recruiting for summer analysts?
