Student at a semi-target/ target school with a godlike journalism school. I'm interested in Rx/TMT but not sure how to weave my experiences to explain why investment banking/why specific sector. Have a strong leadership position in the newspaper here and also a strong GPA. Just don't have any work experience related to IB. Does anyone here have any advice?

You don’t have to draw a linear line from high school to your major to why you are interviewing for Lazard or something lol
Agree with the above. If you're first or second year, you're fine. As long as you can network well and can concoct a good story as to why you want to work in finance, you shouldn't have an issue. Just make sure you're well prepared for technical interviews as those will likely be extra important given your education.
