First of all, the answer is wrong when accounting for rounding.

X = 2400 + 3000 ((X/6000)(-.25)) will reduce down to X=2400-X/8. The math is as follows:

3000((X/6000)(-.25)) can reduce in one of two ways... For the sake of easiness, we can break it down to X/2 (3KX/6K=X/2) * -.25. This means we're left with -X/8 as a quarter of a half is 1/8. If we want to do it the hard way, then we know that X/6K-.25 will leave us with X/-24K (X1)/(6K*-4). When we multiply through with the 3,000 then we are looking at 3000X/-24,000 which can reduce to -X/8. From there, it's a basic bring the Xs to one side and solve.

This means 1.125X = 2400 and X should be 2133.

i got 2133.3333..... is this an algebra question or is it some sort of a trick??

Money Never Sleeps? More like Money Never SUCKS amirite?!?!?!?

Back in my Asian country, the dumbest 3rd graders can do this. GTFO of here.

Nobody wants to work for it anymore. There's no honor in taking the after school job at Mickey D's. Honor's in the dollar, kid.

Nah it's about solving this efficiently to simplify to 1/8 and figure out 1/9th of 2400

Pretty basic arithmetic brainteaser for S&T... just seeing if you can get it in a reasonable amount of time (1 min)
