HSBC increases base to street
Hearing anecdotally internally that base for cap markets and IB product groups has been raised to street. CB coverage has not been raised, people there are upset
Can anyone confirm?

Agreed, investment bankers work twice the hours
CB coverage works on average 70 hours a week, more during heavy deal flow. All HSBC business is originated from CB getting in on the RCF and managing the relationship. CB and IB always get same base, with haircut on bonus to compensate better wlb. This is absolute bs move on HSBC’s part and I hope it’s fixed
