Opportunities to enter as an analyst for commercial banking or wealth management/private bank. If end goal is IB which path has the better shot?

I don’t know wtf I’m talking about cause I’m just an incoming analyst but I did an internship in commercial banking and got to meet a few investment bankers and I networked with them. I ended up getting an interview with the same bank but didn’t do it cause I had already accepted another offer.
Thanks for the response! During your internship in Comm banking did you find what you were doing/learning was directly transferable to your role now in IB?
Not really. Like I said I only interned in commercial banking so I didn't get to do a lot. But from what I saw my seniors do, I don't think there many transferable skills. But the network is good
I would say definitely commercial banking.
Commercial banking, realistically the next year is going to be tough to lateral. I’d focus on making a move to corporate banking first, particularly groups which model or if your firm has it commercial banking leveraged finance.
PWM particularly on a team can be a great career, but it doesn’t set you up for IB.
Appreciate all the comments. From what I understand the firm has good groups and the PWM is in a group. On side note. Just got an offer from a major O&G company for FP&A now throw that in the mix. Lol
