IB Recruiting

Currently a sophomore at a lower end semi target interested in investment banking. Only realized I wanted to do banking in Fall of my sophomore year. Was a difficult stem major and didn’t have a great freshman year so now have a 3.5 gpa (switched to finance major, my major gpa is 4.0). Am involved in multiple serious banking and finance related school organizations as well as being an accomplished varsity athlete, but don’t have a finance related internship for summer 2024. I’ve been doing as much networking as possible and trying to take advantage of opportunities, but what is my realistic chance of landing an IB internship for summer 2025? Additionally, what types of firms should I target and what advice would anyone in industry have. Am genuinely interested in IB and consider myself a hard worker but know I didn’t put myself in the greatest position and looking for peoples thoughts.
