IB Recruiting Varsity Athlete Golf

Hi guys,

I am currently attending a Canadian target school and am a varsity golfer. I didn’t try out for the team first year because I had a torn ACL during tryout season and didn’t touch my clubs until summer time. Unfortunately my game was way too off and I wasn’t totally healthy for second year tryouts, hence I didn’t make the squad. However I really worked at my game the following summer and blew the field out of the water during 3rd and 4th year tryouts once my game was normalized to the state it was before I injured myself, and I had 2 great seasons.

I was wondering if it okay to put it on my resume that I was on the team for all 4 years to boost myself or should I stick with the 2 years only?

Secondly, how much of an asset is it to be a varsity athlete or in my case a proven golfer when it comes to recruiting?

Thank you
