IB (restructuring) from S&T? Is it possible

Hey guys, as the title says, I want to make a transition to IB from the S&T side. Currently a VP on the FICC desk at a BB and have been in similar roles (FX/IRD sales) since graduating 5 years ago. Is there any possibility to make the transition at this stage in my career? Should I get an MBA (something I've been avoiding)? I've done extensive modeling on the side and feel confident in my technical abilities, but getting the interview as a 27 y.o. is the biggest hurdle. Any advice or personal experiences you could provide would be much appreciated. Thanks.
