Active IB Role Job Postings - Not Currently Hiring For Role
Lately I’ve applied to or inquired about roles that are posted, but are not being hired for or have already been hired for and are just sitting as still open. I’m not sure if it’s a current job market thing or some HR strategy fielding future interest. Frustrating to keep on seeing open roles just to find out they’re already hired for or not even currently hiring for that team. Has anyone else experienced this?

Extremely common in all roles these days, banks want to have resumes in the pipeline in case any roles open up. It sucks as a candidate because it gives you an illusion of job openings, but very common in the industry. One of the only perks of the PE process (both for associate and senior associate roles) is the fact that you have much better insight into what is/isn't open, as headhunters are usually pretty good at communicating that, as opposed to applying for 20 jobs, 10 of which take zero people.
