IB with ZERO UCAS points, possible?
I'm currently 24 years old. I was in hospital for a long period of time so I didn't do a-levels.
I have just completed an Access to Social Sciences course. And I've firmed an offer at Loughborough University for Banking+Finance. (Some students get into IBD every year from this course+uni. Source: DFE statistics of graduate destinations)
I only just found that the Access Course is not yet on the UCAS tariff. In other words, I have zero UCAS points.
Research has shown that a minimum of 300 is usually required for internships and graduate scheme jobs. Clearly, I need UCAS points.
So what would you advise me to do?
I'm thinking of deferring my Loughborough offer and doing 1 year intensive a-levels. Then starting Loughborough next year.
I'm quite confident that I can get AAA/AAB at a-level.
I could reject loughborough and apply for higher places, but that seems like too much of a risk. Loughborough gets students into Morgan Stanley, GS etc every single year. So I think I can do it. (According to the Department For Education archive)
tl;dr: I don't have any UCAS points but I got into Loughborough University, Banking+Finance course. Is deferring and doing a-levels a good idea? something else?
Bump to get it noticed
