IBD, AM or HF Intern?

Hi guys,

I'm in my third year summer, and working for a IBD in a third-tier ibank. I've just received a HF gap intern for a half year, the fund is not large, but the PM was a former NYC GS S.T. MD.

I'm determined that I don't want to do IBD in the long term, and put my interests in Asset Management or hedge fund. However, I'm also considering to spend 2-3 years in large banks to get solid skill sets and networks.

Therefore, should I apply for an AM asset management intern in BB banks next summer, or still go back to IBD? What's the better way for me to get into AM or HF?

Cheers.
