IBD Internship at Commerzbank NY?

Hey guys,

So I networked and met an MD, who I think can help me out here. My question is this, should I gun for it during the winter (so that I can potentially put "Incoming analyst" when I apply for BB internships for this summer, whose applications open now), or should I:

1. Do it during the summer (this assumes I don't get anything at BBs)
2. Do it this winter 1 month and potentially get into an HF/PE for the summer - I am connected with alum - (again, assuming I don't get anything at a BB)

I am a rising sophomore at a target, so you can see why I wouldn't expect being at a traditional BB in the summer.
