Have a super day coming up for a few firms, but not sure how the firm’s position has changed now in terms of hiring a new analyst. How concerned should one be as a graduating senior still looking to lock a FT IB gig rn? I’m assuming banks have stalled or tightened all junior hiring for the time being, correct?

finished a super day and expected a phone call from hr for the formal offer but they just postponed it. heard that there’s a hiring freeze? plan to follow up after the weekend

followed up with HR and its basically a hiring freeze, they told me they are still in discussion will get back in a couple weeks
I am about to graduate and a little concerned. However, in the long run everything will play out fine. It is what it is, nothing we can do right now but wait and see, and keep working hard on networking etc.
What are your plans if you cannot find an IB FT analyst position within the next 3 months? Perhaps look towards other fields - audit/tax, consulting, etc?
Yes, I started looking at consulting now. Also considering Credit Analysis or a 5th year at school. Last option would be going back to a broker, where I did an internship before
Are there any banks still recruiting?
