in need of some WSO wisdom

my situation is somewhat unorthodox, and from what i have seen, this is the place to get advice......

just turned 27, eager to break into IB at analyst level, finished my second degree in September 2016, non-target but highly regarded business school in the UK, 3.8 GPA (first class honours) in business management/finance (bachelors).....

3 years experience in management accounting/treasury/controlling

good extra curricular activities but no banking experience/internships to speak of so far

would really appreciate some advice on what my next step should be? i'm aware that this time of year is very quiet with regards to recruiting, but given my age, waiting is not an option. I've begun creating a list of alumni to contact and spent a lot of time going through wall street training programs........

thanks in advance

thank you for the response....

whilst i believe my experience in accounting is valuable, and i am happy that i graduated with a high GPA (despite it being a non-target), my knowledge of banking and deal orientated areas of financial services is limited. i currently spend my evenings working through Wall Street Training material, researching the markets and hunting down those who went to my university and managed to break into IB. i think spending a couple of years doing the grunt work is exactly what i should do.

i'm 27 and posting a question like this on the forum, after years of indecisiveness, i firmly believe this is a career i would enjoy and excel in. starting from the bottom is no problem, as long as i'm starting

Part-time MFin, preferably LSE/LBS.

Yeah, the second degree was sorta pointless.

i do believe i could get into a top place like LSE/LBS with my experience and degrees.......i have seen debates on whether to go for an MBA or MFin, are you suggesting MFin based on my situation or as a general rule?

the first degree was through Open University whilst I was working in management accounting, it was a lot more generic and if any of the two degrees were pointless, it was this one......working 12 hours a day in accounting and then going home to study all evening does however show a decent work ethic......

thanks for your time

Yeah, the first degree was pointless.

Your experience is good for an LSE MFin, part-time. I believe they find a hard time filling up those seats.
