I read something a while back explaining when Lehman was purchased by Barclays they still brought on the incoming Lehman FT class, so whoever buys SVB hopefully will do the same
I think it’s likely someone ends up buying the IB business but no one’s gonna want the whole bank.

Fuck man I feel bad for your class. I just did a bit of full time recruiting myself this winter and it wasn’t an easy market. While you won’t see many well-known banks (at least until later in 2023 I’d say), there are a few smaller shops actively interviewing to bring on An1s.
It sucks you guys never really got to start. Honestly if you got the return offer then you’re good enough to start in IB, so don’t settle for something like deal advisory. Best of luck finding another seat. I’m sure your story coming from SVB will be understood when you start to interview.
100% misinformation from everyone here. SVB Securities is financially isolated from the parent company and EVERYTHING is business as usual on the broker dealer side. Clients understand this as well and are supportive. Whether SVB Securities spins out or gets acquired, it will still be around and you still have a job guaranteed.
