Incoming SA - PI Arrest

Hey guys,

I am an incoming BB SA, and I was recently arrested and given a Public Intoxication citation. I'll spare the details, but it was a flukey incident that probably wouldn't have happened if I were anywhere but the town I was in.

It is a Class C Misdemeanor (same class as traffic tickets) and I am working to get it off my record as soon as possible. I had already filled out the information for my company background check to be initiated several weeks before it happened, and do not believe it asked to disclose any offenses other than felonies.

I was wondering if anyone had any insight into the severity of this situation in regards to my employment. I have heard that this sort of an offense usually isn't a big deal, but wasn't sure if this applies to banking as well. Also, would it be important for me to go ahead and disclose this to HR, or wait to see if they find out/approach me about it?

Obviously I'm a little worried, and really hoping I can put this behind me without affecting my career and the internship I worked so hard to get.

Thanks
