Informal interview Graduated from non target

First of all sorry for making another similar thread. After numerous emails I finally was able to get an informal interview via phone with an alumni that is a VP. Couple of questions I got for you guys:

1) what does he expect me to know / ask?
I understand that I should know the company, its recent deal flow and have a decent understanding of what he is actually doing. But if it was you what would you expect the caller to know and how would you like him to lead the conversation.
2) is asking him if could keep me in the loop if some off cycle interviews open up is too much at the end of the call?
Obviously I will try to get some references from him as otherwise this would be a waste of both his and my time. The problem is that I have to figure out a fine line where I don't sound like a pussy but also that I am not too pushy.

Let me know what you guys think of those points also if you have any tips as to what questions I should directly ask him I would much appreciate.

PS. I am non finance major and already in the woprforce trying to get into Banking and I am just not sure of exactly the topics I should push and how much.

Much appreciated.
