Interesting Work But Career Risk
I'm a first-year analyst at a small boutique in LA, coming from a non-target school on the West Coast. I was lucky to land the role, and while I do enjoy the job overall—decent coworkers, interesting work, and solid technical deal experience—I am a bit worried.
I’ve heard multiple stories about people being laid off in past years, and I’m starting to feel like there’s a lot of pressure to perform beyond my bonus. It seems like building a long-term career here might be challenging outside the long hours.
So, I’m feeling uncertain about whether I should stick it out or try to lateral to a more stable bank. Anyone with similar experiences or advice?
