Intern Fantasy

Would banks be accepting enough towards a MBA2 student (me) who would be keen on recruiting for IB internships in his final year? A point to note here would be that I am from a T15 target university, but the caveat would be that I would officially be unable to participate in on-campus recruitment opportunities for internships since my status would have been changed to a student recruiting for a full-time role.

With that said, I would have to primarily focus on recruiting off-campus. To summarize,

"Would banks be open to recruit a MBA2, T15 student for a summer internship (or an off-cycle internship) role and what are the chances of landing one via off-campus recruiting? Networking goes without saying but if the MBA2 checks all boxes of following all the correct steps of recruiting, would the banks even be accepting enough to have a MBA2 for an internship role?"

If not, how should one proceed? Should I be targeting smaller boutique banks (with employee count ranging from 1-200) instead? Would they be open to having MBA associates or would that be more of an analyst role? Would banks be open to hire MBA2s for an analyst role, for the above mentioned plight? Should I be focusing towards analyst internships in that case or stick with associate intern roles?
