Just a lot of entitled kids, its kind of annoying. I hear a lot of them talk among each other like theyre hot shit and like they know everything (they don't, they're interns) and that says a lot about their character. I feel like they think they need to be loud, try hard to act/dress the part and shit just to get noticed and make a lasting impression. At the end of the internship, I'll prob have more positive stuff to say about the interns who come in and grind, at least try to learn, and can hold their shit together when we drink, over the ones who just ask me when the next happy hour is and try to befriend me. Related note: I actually look a lot younger than some of these interns (crazy, right), so they dont really think anything of it when I'm around so I overhear a lot of conversations. It's mostly innocent conversations, but I've heard some questionable shit. So a piece of advice to any interns reading this, someone is always watching/hearing so act accordingly.

Sorry for the rant.

I'd say that's the most common and frustrating flaw an intern can have. You won't learn if you refuse to acknowledge that you need to learn and that people who are senior to you can teach you. Personally have a very hard time tolerating it.

True this. During my intern, I followed the holy mantra ingrained into me by my then MD: Underpromise and over-deliver. Once you're good, you're free to do WSO and watch youtube videos.

not going to lie, I had a pretty bad haircut (WAY too short on the sides) in my analyst days (actually considered just shaving my head, but figured that would look worse)

I remember one of the loudest associates at my firm spot me from ~50 feet in my cube and he screams across the floor:

"CURTIS!... You can't get away with that!!!" He proceeded to taunt me about my military background (of which I have none), when we were going to the barracks, etc...he was actually hilarious, so I didn't mind too much, but I pretty much was hiding for a few days.

...luckily my hair grows out fast, so only looked horrible for ~1 week...

We have a girl intern on the ER floor.

Woke up last Sunday morning to see a facebook friend request sent from her around 3am....

While I wouldn't consider it a f*ck up, I still would have absolutely not done that to some of the good looking broads on the floor during my internship.

Lucky for her I didn't tell the guys to get a cheap laugh out of her thirstiness.

If we have a solid Summer Analyst (whose been killing it) experience a novel fuckup in the office (and they're self confident enough) I'll tag them in job opportunities at Northwestern Mutual for Insurance Sales on LinkedIn.
