Internal Mobility at BBs | FO -> FO

I'm an incoming s&t summer analyst at a BB, think CS/BOFA/Citi. I was wondering how hard it would be for me to internally lateral from S&T to IB. I like S&T but really want to pursue IB. How can I do this with HR and/or networking with IB folks within my BB? Any advice/insight/perspective would be appreciated, especially with those 3 specific BBs. Thank you!!

It depends, are you talking about transferring after your summer analyst stint and start full time in IB? If so much easier than doing it once you start full time but you must be a well liked/performing SA in order to be given the opportunity. I interned at one of those banks and midway through the summer you get the chance to sit down to HR and explore mobility if you wish to do so.

If you mean starting full time within S&T and later moving, it's a different story. It is doable but requires a lot of networking, good performance, and a bit of luck. Basically you have to hustle for it. And also you'll most likely have to start as analyst 1 again.

Yes, I mean after my SA stint this summer. I want to lateral from s&t to IB and hope that HR will position me to do so, but would love more insight on that if you have it. If you could dm me your experience with it or your experience with peers doing it please do
