Interning in BO, expressed interest in coming back to intern in sales and trading.. what next?

Hey guys,

This summer I am completing an internship in a back office program at an IB in NY. I come form a technical background and want to land on a trading desk full time, so I have decided to express interest to my HR rep that I would like to be considered for the sales and trading internship next summer. My HR rep took kindly to my request and seemed encouraging (I had an excellent mid summer review and great marks from my manager/ solid resume), the only problem is that I come from a non target school that the bank "does not usually consider candidates from".

What can I do to land a super day? I plan on meeting with some traders and milking my connection with my hr rep, but I do not think this will be enough.

Any advice will be great.
