Internship Eve - How Are We Feeling?

Hey everyone, just wanted to reach out and see how everyone was feeling about internships starting tomorrow. Wanted to start a thread to share tips/advice with one another at the final hour.

Be polite, focus on your work, and know your place. Communicate well and never go on your phone.

Three things:

  1. If assigned a task you haven't done before, acknowledge that up front and ask for any templates, former examples of what good looks like, or tips to do it well.
  2. I don't know the vibe of your office, but I survived one banking internship because I developed comradery with the Analysts. It can take time and be difficult to do, but if you can develop good relationships, sometimes that can help too. They went easier on me when I made mistakes as they knew I was giving it 100%, which I dont think they would have done if they hadn't liked me
  3. Triple check your work. As an intern it takes more time for an Analyst to assign something to you and to check your work than it does for them to do it themselves, so try your best to submit something that is error free.

I realize none of these are revolutionary, but these were what came to mind.

If you're really shitless, post about Anchorage. Youll have more shits in no time
