Interview Attire - What is the appropriate thing to wear?

When women at your bank wear skirt suits in the summer at your bank, do they typically wear panty hose with them? What is the appropriate thing to do for interviews in the summer?

That's kinda tough - When I've worked in professional environments with women, I noticed that the younger ones tended to wear panty hose, while the older managerial women tended not to, - but at the same time they rarely if ever wore skirts.

If you've got a set of legs that you're comfortable showing off - do it with some class b/c no one likes to see veins and super white legs. Wear panty hose unless their perfect. No panty hose if you've got the goods.

I thought women always wore pantyhose in a professional setting. Keep the bare legs for the weekend is the rule right? That said, if you have nice legs, I certainly have no problem with them being bared but cover up otherwise

The interview books I've read are pretty religious about hose for interviews, no exceptions.

I've seen some say no pant suits either (still talking about interviews only here), but there are differences of opinion on that. There is a major real estate firm in NY that does not allow pant suits for women in the office at all. Probably not the case at banks, but it illustrates that NYC still has very conservative people around. When in doubt, for an interview, skirt suit with hose seems safest.

My expertise on women's fashion ends here.
