Interview Feedback/Thoughts?

I just finished an interview for a Business Development position within the Digital department of a Media Firm. I had a panel style interview, with two HR members and two Directors.

I think the interview went great and I received lots of positive feedback mid-interview. In addition, I did very well on the first case-study (given on the spot).

HOWEVER, 5 minutes before the interview was supposed to wrap up, I was given another case study, which completely STUMPED me (for which I'm still thinking of what the appropriate response should have been). I was basically given information on an App that wanted to partner with the firm (i.e. pay us licenses to use our content), and how I would go about analyzing that App, using the data they provided (ad revenue, app download revenue, users, costs, hosting costs, etc.).

Any thoughts on my chances to be called back for a second round? Like I said, my interview went very well prior to this, and it's something I'm genuinely passionate about, which I think was very clear in my interview.

Can anyone give me feedback on next steps in terms of how I should approach my follow-up with the Director who posed this question? Should I just send a thank you note? Or should I follow-up with a better answer to the case study?

I would appreciate any help I can get. I really NEED this job!

Dont follow up with an answer to the case study, it just magnifies the fact that you screwed up (when you dont know for certain you did screw up).

I think a simple thank you note is good and mention how you felt the interview went briefly. That way, your positives are reinforced because you're highlighting them. Get the email across within 24-48 hours and just wait I guess. Not much more you can do. Good luck.

Thanks a lot for the advice.

To add to your first sentence, I'm for sure that I screwed up. I didn't actually give a final answer to the case study. I mentioned a few points, but it was not directly addressing what exactly she was looking for. Given that we were running on a tight schedule and at the very end of the interview when the quick case study was given (she mentioned she may have to cut me off if we're running out of time), she ended up just moving on/ending the interview after mentioning a few pointers, etc.

Does your recommendation change after hearing this?

Not much to be honest. I'd send the thank you note and just wait I guess. Here's hoping the rest of your interview is whats considered.
