Interview Follow up - Top IBD for analyst
Finished last round interview three weeks ago at top IBD for analyst position. I sent thank you emails the day after. A week after I sent an email to the hiring manager reiterating my interest in the position and a note to the HR person asking for the status of my application. HR person said they really liked me and would get back to me shortly. Last friday I sent an email to HR reiterating my interest in the position and today asked the hiring manager for a update. They initially said they'd get back to me in a few days. Is this overkill? Some say once a week is good, and some don't. Also, the emails are going to different people, but I imagine they talk.
A lot of WSO members will disagree with me on this point, but I think persistence can be nothing but good. Staying on top of things is really a prerequisite for any job in finance.
