Investment Analyst title at VC fund
I’m interviewing for this early state corporate VC fund, in late stages, but the role title has me a bit confused. It’s for an “Investment Analyst” role; however, the qualifications ask for 2-4 years banking experience. From my understanding, if you’re making a move into VC after two years of IB then you come in as an Associate, or just an Investor position. I would assume Investment Analysts are for folks straight out of college. Are these titles arbitrary / do they not matter in the VC world, or am I in the right to ask them about what seems to be a downgrade in title?
