Investment Banking Career Advice
hello everyone,
I would like to just have some career advice in IB from some people in the industry. Some things about me, I am a first year MBA student at a pretty decent university (not top 25) in the northeast. It looks like I will be getting a IB internship this summer, it'll be from a smaller boutique firm near me. Smaller Boutiques don't guarantee a full-time offer after the internship if it goes well, the firm told me it really depends on if they have work coming in or not. The advice I am looking for is what are the chances of getting a full-time offer from other firms after my internship?? I will be in a pretty good MBA program, I will have had an IB Internship, also had a internship with my school where I assisted in the management of their investment portfolio, I had a job in sales (if that matters lol), and I was a student-athlete.
Also should I finish my MBA directly after my internship before working full-time? or should I leave 1 or 2 classes and finish them when I get 1/2 years of experience in IB. I was in a unique situation from going right from my undergraduate (non-target) to graduate school (semi-target) because I play a sport and red-shirted a year so I had another year to play.
I really would appreciate some advice about how I am looking! I have been working my a** off to break in
any advice anyone?? would really appreciate it
