Investment Banking Career Advice - Best way to become an investment banker?
What is the best way to become an investment banker at one of the more predominant firms?
I am currently 23 and serving the early stages of my U.S. Army contract where I am an intelligence officer. It is my desire to get into investment banking when my tenure is finished. My question is what advice, preferably from someone in the industry, would you give to me as my best route for obtaining a position in investment banking. I would like to target the more prestigious firms, I know obviously they will be much more selective and it will be much more difficult for me to go that route but that's what I would like to do. My undergraduate degree is in finance and I am pretty set on the idea of getting my MBA in one of the financial fields. Other than that is there any advice or suggestions "you" might have that could increase my chances to break into that industry.
Thanks
It would help if you would post your resume and be more specific. What position in finance do you want?
