Investment banks as Gyms
These are my 6am lifting thoughts before taking the Q train to midtown…
Goldman Sachs - Equinox This one sells itself, elite, quintessential, everyone who is a member needs to make sure everyone else knows they are a member
Morgan Stanley - New York Sports Club Best physical locations by far and have quite the market share
Centerview Partners - Peloton Studios Newcomer in the market and absolutely blew up, everyone wanted to get a spot there but demand is exceeding supply
Deutsche Bank - Planet Fitness Need I say more
Nomura - 24 Hour Fitness They’ve got people coming in there all hours of the day, time difference goes crazy I’ve heard
Moelis - Barry’s Bootcamp Everyone in there is drenched in sweat
Lazard - Soul Cycle Used to be an OG but the marketplace has caught up with them
Raymond James - Orange Theory Somehow they are everywhere but no one actually understands what they do—also know that one kid that goes and makes it their entire personality
Let’s hear the takes
FT Partners - those micro gyms in parks with parallel dip bars, a balance beam, and a random bench, and there is always an old man in a tracksuit doing tai chi
I can also imagine the type of people who do calisthenics are the same type of people who comment 140k base btw
Evercore - TMPL. The new shiny toy on Wall Street that is starting to compete with the heavy hitters. Everyone in there knows what they’re doing and looks the part. Gym is packed through the night.
BofA - Gold’s GYM
Jefferies - Beachbody Fitness - P90X
Citi - Barre
Wells Fargo - YMCA
HSBC - Gracie BJJ
Barclays - Lifetime
UBS - LA fitness
PJT - Dog pound
RBC - Blink
Qatalyst - Alphaland
Moelis - Those outdoor gyms at beaches and parks
Illum quos nisi laborum. Deserunt rerum aut quis nulla autem et ducimus.
