Is Business Associate opportunity with IBD in BB considered back office?

i got an opportunity to interview with a BB in NYC for business associate opportunity with an ibanking division. i am trying to break in to ibanking as an analyst and was applying for various opening to get my foot in the door. this was one such call that i got. do you think this would be a good start (if i get through) or there is rare transition from a business associate to be a first year analyst? any comments in this regard is highly appreciated.
