Is investment banking allowing you to use your best skill sets to excel in life?

Lots of people including myself chase investment banking because it seems like a safe path to be an above average person financially speaking. There are times where you ask yourself if you'd have done what you were a pro at would you have done banking as a career path? Speaking of myself, I wouldn't say I am the best at my job but not the worst. I'm not exceptional but not terrible. Just above average, but there are days where I think I'd be better off doing what I could be the best at?So my question is, do you think you're using your best traits to succeed or are you just suppressing them because investment banking seems like the safest way to make money?I don't mean to turn this into something cliche but have you ever thought to yourself "hey I'm not going to Robert kravis but that's alright I'll be financially great in my life" and sometimes think that's not something to settle for. I should be exceptional at what I do so I know I did what I was great at and never was held backI sometimes ask myself "why the fuck am I chasing this rat race? I'm not best in what I do, and I'm working harder to overcome that. I'm definitely not going to go down as the best closer on the street so why the fuck am I chasing this?" Like seriously, have we all ever thought to ourselves that we settled? We think we achieved what we wanted out of life but we were too pussy to do what we were actually exceptional at? Doug fucking Demuro went from a writer for auto trader to now opening a $300 million car trading company for enthusiasts through his passion for cars. It’s like a punch in the gut knowing I could try and do what I am the best at but I’m holding myself back for this overrated fucking career.

Yeah, I think if you take it upon yourself and work hard, you can be successful in whatever endeavor you choose. A similar realization I'm having. But some things just reward you more financially if you follow the money in a capitalist system.
