Is job security in London much better than non-European offices?
Spoke with a few colleagues who work / worked in London offices.
It seems to me that the quality of the books from London is not that bad vs NY. But colleagues often complain a few of their juniors are very bad and there is no way to get rid of them.
They said you can only wait for mass layoffs or when they find good exits. Firing is difficult especially if you have managed to survive for more than 3 years there. At best you can only give them bottom rating every year and they get little to no bonus but if they have thick enough skin, they can become associate 4, then vp 4 and eternal director.
Is that true? Sounds too good to me

In summary, while London offers good career prospects and a relaxed work culture, job security can be a concern, especially in times of industry layoffs. The social dynamics and challenges for non-EU citizens are also factors to consider.
