Is Natixis an EB?

Sorry for the potentially ignorant question, but I’ve been seeing a lot of discussion around these guys recently; why? Did my summer at a lower tier BB and wondering if it might be worth it to lateral full time when the market opens back up if the consensus is that they’re on par with a MOE/PWP/LAZ. Am primarily concerned with exits as I don’t think I’ll stay in banking long term. Thanks

Have seen a couple of their guys lateral straight into executive positions at f500 companies following their analyst stint. Definitely would keep an eye out on them.

Thanks. Would you say traditional buyout PE exits are also common? I know MF is a toss up even at a higher tier EB, but just curious if their analysts get the same looks as one of the other mid-tier EBs I listed

It's on par with CVP/PJT/GS/MS if not better. Heard their analysts get insane responsibility and some are total rockstars (think sourcing deals from day 1). Think that's probably because the recruitment process is so stringent though (think 8+ hard rounds of pure technicals) and you need to be referred by an MD just to apply. Also heard their exits are top notch, even beating out PJT RSSG. MF PE and top SM HFs are virtually guaranteed, but for what it's worth these are actually seen as T2 exits at Natixis - the top bucket analysts get handpicked for C suite positions at F100s or top government positions (think President/House Speaker/Fed Chair). Turnover is quite low though and a lot of analysts choose to stay at the firm, given AN1 to MD promotion timeframe is typically 5 years. Comp is also well above market (think 250 base + 200% bonus AN1) which reflects the level of top talent they recruit. Also heard perks are insane as well. The firm has a private helipad on its roof and expenses private helicopter charters to and from the office each day. Also heard the HR there negotiated a deal with Nobu for delivery to the office which the firm expenses.

Overall great place to start your career

I did an internship with them over the summer. Natixis has been "shadow advising" huge clients like Elon Musk on their acquisition strategies. I say shadow because they are not in the filings but we got paid under the table kyky. I think it's as exclusive as Allen & Co. Thats why u dont hear it as much

The shadow advising bit makes a lot of sense in hindsight. Can’t tell you how many times I clicked on a press release for a $10Bn+ deal and was stunned when I didn’t see Natixis mentioned at the bottom under financial advisors. Now I know why. I suppose once you reach a certain level of prestige you actually prefer to fly under the radar a bit
