Is the Adventis Financial Modeling Certification worth it?

Is anyone familiar with the adventis financial modeling certification? I'm a current sophomore at a target looking to recruit for IB, and not sure if this would be a good use of $300. I got to do Wall Street Prep through my school, so I learned some modeling through there, but not sure if Adventis would be a better certification to have

The program is pretty good as a supplement to the MI400 and other guides while prepping for technicals; you get to double down on the theoretical content on valuations from the guides by actually building out the analyses a couple of times

If you’re trying to use the certification to stand out during recruiting it might help you get interviews at the expense of getting grilled extra on technicals (which shouldn’t be an issue if you actually get the certification)

Just my 2 cents

Comes down to who the people are teaching it since it can vary instructor to instructor. All in all it’s great learning from people actually working in IB or similar industries and a student that has actually just gone through the process. Also it gives you a very solid base to build from in terms of modeling and technicals and always found the answer key model helpful to have open during phone screens.

That being said, don’t take the course until you have taken intro accounting courses or have a basic understanding of financial statements. The course moves fast and it shouldn’t be your first exposure to that.

If you get certified Adventis also reaches out with numerous internships that you could end up landing. These aren’t BB or EB internships though, these are what you would want as a freshman or sophomore. That can be extremely helpful at a non-target but even a target to build a resume early

All in all, if the price isn’t an issue for you, worth the one weekend to take the class and get certified afterwards another weekend. If the price is an issue, I would say try to do at least one course whether it’s Adventis or Wall Street Prep or another option you have
