Is the lateral market for IB Associates completely dead?
I was laid off Q4 last year from a BB as a second year associate. I decided to take December off and started looking / reaching out using headhunters at the end of January. The market seems pretty dead. Are people experiencing the same thing: hiring freezes and only very selective opportunities at smaller / niche firms? If you know of any banking opportunities can you post firm / group / level?
Was hoping to lateral back into IB this year but at least at the analyst level seems completely dead and doesn't seem like it'll be back anytime soon.
Literally nothing out there unless it’s a specific team that is probably lean and is backfilling backfilling. and you happen to know someone in the group
There will be fewer investment banking associates on the street at the end of this year than there were at the beginning of last year.
