JD/MBA have a shot at IB Associate?
Hey Monkeys,
First-year student in the JD/MBA program at an M7/T14 school. No prior IB experience, in fact, work experience is limited to 4-6 years of full-time restaurant work. Picked up internships in real estate dev and wealth management along the way. Finance undergrad at non-target.
Thoughts? Recos?
Yea, it's not that tough. Take relevant coursework. Get good grades year one and try to do relevant legal internships your first summer or two (if you are in a 3 or 4 year program). And then the summer before you graduate you just have to have a banking internship (which means you have to go through the grind of banking recruiting, which can be tough if you are taking law classes). The JD/MBA kids at my M7/Top law school all did really well, though most focused on restructuring, a couple also got good BB jobs too.
Good to hear - thanks for the advice.
