They seem to be crushing it from a deal flow perspective. Our firm runs into Jefferies HC a lot. They're doing a bunch of sponsor sell-sides for assets selling for $2B+.
Definitely grind. Probably have the best exit opps at Jefferies although not sure that's a consideration for you if you're looking to stay on as an associate.
Good deal flow, very sweaty, honestly this forum overstates how bad the culture is/maybe the culture improved. I am not saying it's the best culture, but not as bad as WSO made it seem when I started at Jeff. I will say that we have the best exits within the firm, though keep in mind that Jeff is still not a BB. The group had more deal flow than anything at DB for example but based on the data I have seen DB best group(sponsors) exit roughly similarly to us(mostly MM with rare UMM/MFs). Don't get me wrong, it's a great experience in terms of deal flow and having good exits relative to the firm, but it's lacking in terms of sweatiness to exits. Also, our firm internally has a weird obsession with comparing to DB mostly because we are just above them globally + in NA and they are considered a BB, it's kinda BS since they are the worst of the traditional BB's.
I understand you are A0, but mentioning exits here since in some ways it's a proxy of how headhunters/PE view groups and firms.
Analysts work like 70-90 hours and this is in the present not super hot market, the number is most likely closer to the 80-100 range for otherwise. You're worked like a dog, but again great deal of experience and good exits relative to the rest of the firm. Associates are like 5-10 hours or so lower depending on the associate/staffings/deal flow at the time. I am giving 70-90 as a range, but it's usually closer to the 70 number rather than 90, the 90+ hour weeks are truly only when deep in a live deal.

Hey! Congrats on the offer! Wanted to ask how your recruitment process was like? Did you have HR final round interview? How long after did you hear?
Thanks!
you hijacking
The lateral churn there seems higher than Trump administration. They basically hire anyone and churn and burn seems like.
Could you explain more, I’ve heard the exact opposite about Jef HC
Same, I only heard bad stories on this forum
Not sure what he’s talking about. HC culture is down the toilet
What’s the bonus clawback policy again?
.
Do you mind if I PM you about your lateral process?

Can you elaborate on sweatiness? What does a typical week look like for an associate in terms of hours?
