Jefferies Culture

I have searched around on the topic but don’t see anything within the past two years so thought I’d ask. How is the culture at Jefferies? Obviously the hours are long but how are the people and do you like working there? Would you advise working there? I am looking from an analyst or associate’s perspective.

I remember when the recruiting team came to my target. It was very well known that they only recruited a few people and they were consistently from the same select fraternities. Everyone from the analysts to the MDs were frat boys who were interested in either talking to you about how crazy their job is or the attractiveness of women who showed up to the event.

I clearly remember one MD spending 10 minutes talking about how many emails he gets a day (100). I was shocked at the time and now find that not that impressive. I'm obviously joking but it was still weird.

Overall though, it's a very work hard, play hard type bank

Can someone pls elaborate what fratty is supposed to mean in terms of culture (I'm non-US)?
