Jesse Jackson Fans the Flames

This year's American Bankers Association conference is happening in Chicago, so it stands to reason that one of the Windy City's most notable luminaries should weigh in on the matter. The Reverend Jesse Jackson took a break from race baiting and fathering children out of wedlock long enough to pen a few brief thoughts on what Wall Street should do with some of the outsized profits being reported:

This week, as the ABA gathers in Chicago, the bankers are being greeted by thousands of citizens calling them to account. On Monday, citizens marched to the offices of Goldman Sachs, demanding that Goldman devote the staggering $23 billion it has put aside for bonuses into a fund to prevent home foreclosures. On Tuesday, thousands will gather to send the bankers the message: "Enough is enough."

Maybe we'll get to see what Mayor Daley is made of. I think I know how his dad would have handled the angry mob...

gave a speech at my old high school. He preached and praised the virtues of virtue. Abstinence, responsibility...all the good stuff. He ended the speech with "I need not be told the pleasures of the flesh, I am a father of four who has never strayed in spite of daily temptation".

One year later his bastard child and one of many affairs was headline fodder until the story disappeared into the closet along with Barney Frank and Marv Albert's neglige.

As we say in the old Eastern Block, the definition of a communist: "Everything can be fixed and nothing is beyond his will".
