Job prospects for a non-EU after a Msc?
Hi all,
Hope you're doing well.
I just wanted to know your thoughts on my job prospects after I complete my masters in finance.
To tell you about myself:
- 3 years of work experience (including KPMG 2.5 years of experience at a M&A team)
- Korean CPA license
- Bachelor's in Engineering (Graduated in 2022)
- Multilingual (English, Korean + Currently DELF B1 French but planning on bringing this up to DELF C1 level)
- 2 years of Military Service
To help my chances of landing a role at an investment bank in Europe, I plan on applying for a master's in finance in Europe, targets of which include LSE and ESSEC.
I just want to know your thoughts on my chances of landing a role in Corporate Finance.
Thank you very much guys!

Great profile.
Essec is not a strong target school in london, I'd avoid as an international
Mainly look at lse lbs icl and oxbridge for London
Hec bocconi escp st gallen etc plus native fluency in a (useful) European language would work very well too
Hey Adrien, thanks for your input,
Unfortunately, due to my work experience, the best school I'll be eligible to apply in France is ESSEC. Other schools include Warwick, and EDHEC.
Even if I don't aim for BBs and instead aim for middle market banks/boutiques, will I be able to land interviews in your view?
.
For London sponsorship will be an issue for boutiques unless you study there. For Paris ones you need at minimum C1. With lower tier essec, edhec there's a slight difficulty landing MMs/BBs/EBs as a first internship but students arrive there eventually. 2 year masters are better for grinding, and give you time to improve your language level.
Most common path is like you said, small cap boutiques anywhere to get exposure (even your home country) plus applying for end of studies grad schemes /internships like a mad man, using your network, going to company events to put yourself into processes and so on.
