JP MORGAN OFFER - HELP

Hello guys,

Just received an offer to join the CIB Credit Risk Team of JPM. I would like to better understand what are the exit opportunities from here. I am currently interning in private credit at a a super fund like KKR/Blackstone etc... and in process for full time at other credit funds or restructuring shops (So, don't say it's a job you should take it, is not how I reason).

In my team, and at other funds, is full of ex credit JPM. So i am tempted to say that is a good career start.

What's your opinion?

tone down your expectations there bro.

It’s a great job, but you aren’t going to a mega fund credit seat from a credit risk position. You need to go to a traditional investment banking position, such as IB DCM, RX, etc.

But at my fund and at other funds (from what I see on linkedin) it happens. WHy are you so sure?

Also can it be a good spot for LevFin / DCM Later on even a lower tier bank?

Thanks

because those seats are some of the hardest to land in finance and they have no reason not to choose someone from a more competitive investment banking background

I think you are sucking off IB a bit too much.

I work in JPM credit and there have been people who have moved to mega funds from the bank. They are superstars and top of their game and leave mid associate level but the work & skillset you develop in credit at JPM is incredibly relevant to a top credit shop even more than IB.
