Justification/Importance of GPA

Hey all,

We all know how important GPA is in IB, I'm currently sitting at a 3.6 with Econ and Comp sci. Computer science is really the one dragging it down, I love it and think its a very good degree to have so dropping it is out of the question. Was just wondering if recruiters will take the difficulty of the major into consideration, and how can I justify my GPA if asked, because straight up saying liberal arts majors are easier is the pussy way out.

Thanks, I appreciate it, I take full blame, one hiccup in each of my comp sci class' really took a hit on my GPA

I don't mean to come off harsh, but take those mistakes and learn from them. Instead of having beers with your friends on a weeknight. Spend some extra time in the library or at home studying. If making it into IB is your number one priority, you'll find a way.

I think the most important thing that I have learned as I have gotten older is the importance of not wasting time. It's so easy to spend 10-15 minutes here and there on our phones. If you are conscious of every second of every day, you'll make better use of it.

Comp Sci is not only about having a natural gift and ability. It's about practice and exposure as well. The more you immerse yourself the better you will become.

Just some food for thought.

Of course, thank you, I'm definitely doing my best to be a better test taker and focus more, I do drastically better on home projects
